The National Publicity Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Felix Morka, has stated that the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, is at liberty to support or even spearhead the re-election campaign of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Speaking during an appearance on The Morning Brief on Channels Television, Morka emphasized that Wike’s political affiliation does not strip him of his constitutional rights as a Nigerian citizen. According to him, every individual is entitled to freely choose who to support and campaign for, regardless of party lines.

Wike, a prominent member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), had earlier indicated his willingness to play a leading role in Tinubu’s re-election efforts, a move that has stirred political conversations across party boundaries.

Meanwhile, internal efforts are ongoing within the PDP to mend divisions among its ranks. At a recent National Executive Committee (NEC) gathering in Abuja, factions within the party signaled renewed commitment to reconciliation. One of the key figures in the process, Tanimu Turaki, confirmed that fresh talks are underway to bridge differences and restore unity.

Despite these developments, Morka maintained that the APC remains focused on its own agenda. He noted that the ruling party’s priority lies in strengthening its internal structures and ensuring adequate preparation for upcoming electoral contests.

He added that while opposition activities are acknowledged, they are not a source of concern for the APC. Instead, the party is channeling its energy toward strategic planning and consolidating its position ahead of future elections.
