The All Progressives Congress (APC) has reaffirmed its commitment to conducting a peaceful, transparent, and credible National Convention scheduled for March 27 and 28 at Eagle Square in Abuja.

Speaking in Abuja on Tuesday, Oghene Egoh, a former representative of Amuwo-Odofin Federal Constituency and Chairman of the Media Relations Subcommittee for the convention, assured that strict accreditation measures would be enforced to ensure that only eligible delegates participate in the electoral process.

According to him, the convention – tagged “Renewed Hope National Convention”, will see the emergence of consensus candidates for several key leadership positions within the party.

Egoh emphasized that comprehensive arrangements have been finalized to guarantee a seamless and orderly exercise, expressing confidence that the outcomes will be widely accepted by party stakeholders.

He noted that the party remains firmly guided by the principles of fairness, inclusivity, and transparency, stressing that both longstanding and newly admitted members enjoy equal rights and opportunities within the APC structure.

“The party operates without bias. Every member, regardless of when they joined, is given a fair chance to contribute and participate fully,” he said.

Describing the APC as one of Africa’s most influential political parties, Egoh highlighted its expansive membership base and continued role in shaping democratic governance.

He further disclosed that approximately 36 national offices are expected to be filled during the convention, with consensus arrangements designed to reflect broad agreement among party leaders and members.

Commending the administration of Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Egoh attributed ongoing reforms to the government’s Renewed Hope agenda, noting that significant policy decisions have been taken to reposition the economy.

He referenced the removal of fuel subsidy and reforms in the foreign exchange system as critical steps toward economic stabilization.

Expressing optimism about the impact of these policies, Egoh pointed to a gradual decline in the prices of essential goods, including staple food items, as a sign of improving economic conditions.

He concluded by reaffirming the party’s resolve to deliver a credible convention and urged Nigerians to maintain trust in the democratic process.

“We remain committed to ensuring a peaceful convention, a transparent process, and outcomes that truly reflect the will of party members,” he stated.
