The All Progressives Congress (APC) has downplayed recent criticism directed at its Deputy National Chairman (South), Ben Nwoye, describing the remarks as baseless and distracting.

In a statement issued by his media aide, Hon. Nwaorisa Gerald Chinonso, the party official rejected allegations of poor leadership raised by a political commentator, insisting that the claims lack merit and misrepresent recent developments within the party.

The statement noted that the criticism referenced a television interview granted by Nwoye weeks earlier, arguing that the commentary was both delayed and misleading. According to the aide, the APC chieftain did not, at any point during the interview, disparage any state leadership or make remarks targeting the governor of Imo State.

Instead, Nwoye was said to have addressed internal party issues, particularly urging members to refrain from spreading misinformation regarding power-sharing arrangements within the party structure in Enugu State.

The statement further emphasized that the deputy national chairman is currently focused on strengthening party cohesion across southern Nigeria. It highlighted ongoing efforts to reconcile aggrieved members and foster unity among stakeholders as the party positions itself for future political engagements.

APC supporters and the general public were advised to disregard what the statement described as “unfounded narratives” aimed at creating unnecessary tension within the party.
