Nigeria’s First Lady, Oluremi Tinubu, has urged Nigerians to study and replicate Kaduna State’s example of peaceful coexistence across religious and ethnic lines.

Mrs. Tinubu made the call during an official engagement in Kaduna, where she commended the state’s efforts at fostering unity among its diverse population. According to her, Kaduna’s ability to accommodate people of different faiths and ethnic backgrounds while maintaining relative harmony offers a practical model for national cohesion.

She emphasized that Nigeria’s diversity should be seen as a strength rather than a source of division, urging citizens to embrace tolerance, dialogue, and mutual respect in their daily interactions.

The First Lady also called on traditional rulers, religious leaders, and community stakeholders to sustain ongoing peace-building initiatives, noting that leadership at the grassroots level is crucial to preventing conflict and strengthening unity.

Her remarks come amid continued national conversations around security, inter-ethnic relations, and the need for inclusive governance. Kaduna State, historically affected by communal and religious tensions, has in recent years implemented policies and dialogue-driven interventions aimed at reducing conflict and promoting peaceful coexistence.

Observers say Mrs. Tinubu’s comments reinforce the Federal Government’s broader message on unity and national integration, especially at a time when social cohesion remains a key factor in Nigeria’s stability and development.
