Governor Babagana Umara Zulum of Borno State has announced a sweeping reshuffle of his administration, dissolving the State Executive Council and relieving all serving commissioners of their duties with immediate effect.

The move, according to the government, is part of preparations ahead of the 2027 general elections, creating room for any cabinet member interested in pursuing elective office to do so without remaining in an executive role.

All former commissioners have been instructed to formally transfer the responsibilities of their ministries to the respective Permanent Secretaries no later than Friday, April 3, 2026.

Governor Zulum expressed appreciation to the outgoing officials for their service, commending their loyalty, hard work, and contributions toward the growth and progress of Borno State during their time in office.
